Trying to work it all out on your own is not.
The whole point of playing drums is to play
with other people and make music.
And that is what I can teach you.
To get you playing along to songs as soon as possible.
To be the drummer other musicians want to play with.
To be the engine driving your band, making a room
full of people move.
And have fun while we’re doing it.
Ever seen a room full of people dancing
to a couple of guitarists?

Lessons are 45 minutes and cost £40.
I’m also happy to come for a FREE half hour visit
to say hello, talk things through.
I can work with kids from 10 years old to 80.
I will always try to cover as much as possible in the time.
I like to play rock, funk, soul, hip-hop and r&b.
I love jazz but know enough to realise I can’t play it.
This is a pretty informal approach to learning drums based
on my own experience.
If you want to perform ten minute drum solos or
play jazz fusion in very odd time signatures,
I may not be the man for you.🥺

About me...
I ’ve been playing the drums for over forty years.
I’ve always loved playing but I definitely missed out
by not having proper guidance early on.
It’s taken a very long time to get rid of the bad habits
and strange ideas I started with.
Hence this approach to teaching.
When I’ve not been playing drums I’ve spent my time as
an Art Director at various advertising agencies in London.
I’ve made advertising for Citroen, Peugeot, Audi, Waitrose,
Haagen Dazs, Cadbury, Delux and Brewdog to name a few.
I’m based in South Wonston and yes, I am DBS checked.
